Though hardly a small town, San Miguel de Allende is petite compared to Mexico's other hubs — not even cracking the top 100 cities by way of population.
The city is stunning — colorful Spanish colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, a vibrant art scenes and enough history to make you feel like you're stepping back in time.
For better or worse, SMA has a consistently higher-end vibe than a lot of other Mexican cities — artisanal shops, farm to table restaurants, boutique hotels and fine art galleries.
You're going to want to check out Fábrica La Aurora, the view from El Mirador, Jardín Allende, La Parroquia, Parque Benito Juárez and obviously going into the unreal number of worthwhile stores downtown.
